Marta Shumylo, a fellow photography student at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, did a series entitled Time Making Art in which she photographed rotting fruit. It may sound grotesque when you actually think of it, because she intentionally let the fruit rot in her home, but the resulting images are captivating and beautiful, evoking reactions far from disgust.

I hesitate to admit that it's beautiful. It also leaves a bad taste in my virtual mouth.
